3 Choose the new type you wish to affect to the variable,

4 By ticking this case, other settings appear allowing you to choose the content of the variable as well as the rank of the modality.The content may be « Chain » to have the name of the modality or « Number » if it is a modality type year for example, and the rank of the modality in the case of a multiple variable (if rank=1 we recuperate the first response).

5 Choose if you wish to modify the variable chosen by recoding it (the initial variable will be lost) or if you want to create a new variable.

6 In the case of the creation of a new variable, inform the minimum about the name of this variable (and possibly a title).

7 Then choose the location of insertion of the new variable created (after the variable selected, at the end of the questionnaire…).
