Insert a geographic map

In the banner, tab Insertion, click on Geographic map.
Two dialog boxes display simultaneously : External object properties and Map parameters.

The first stage consists in setting the map. Select the well-adapted predefined map in the drop-down menu (France : Region, Department, country, etc.). The button description allows you to visualize the codes supported for the map chosen.

In the section Data, select the variable of your survey which serves as Identify, containing the list of responses corresponding to the code used to generate the map (for example, a variable listing the names of countries). The drop-down menu Calculate allows to define the type of values you wish to display on the map (effectives, sum, average, distribution, etc.).

In the example presented, we have chosen to visualize the distribution of the gender of respondent in Europe. It is about the distribution male/female in the different countries of the European Union (indicator : variable resuming the names of countries).

The sections Map presentation and Data presentation allow to manage the options of presentation of the map and the associated results.

Click OK to validate the Map parameters. You reach the dialog box External object properties

• The tab Content allows especially to relaunch the dialog box View parameter. The name of the library used to generate the geographic maps is also specified from this tab.
• The tab Calculate allows to limit the responses to a specific profile that we define.
• The tab Settings allows to display the map for only one given type of people. 
• The tab Display allows to manage the options of presentation of the object.

Once the properties of the object are defined, click OK  to validate. The geographic map is generated.
