Affect a value by default

This function allows to prefill a question by affecting to it a response by default. Therefore, whatever is its type, a question may be displayed with a value by default, which means elements of responses already ticked or entered.

To affect a value by default, in the stage of writing the questionnaire, in the dialog box of editing a question, click on the tab Analysis and calculation, activate the option Value by default.

The drop-down menu proposes to affect the value by default at random, but it is also possible to enter the value or the exact name of a modality (or several modalities separated by a ";").

Present the respoonse modalities of a question at random

This function allows to avoid that the modalities, of a closed question, present first, may be chosen more frequently than the others. We avoid therefore « the anchor effect » and we eliminate a source of potential biais.

In the dialog box of the definition of the closed question, in the tab Controls, click on Random rotation except for, and precise possibly the modality (ies) that must/mustn't be submitted to this rotation.
